Carolina Oneto joined our guild in December:
She shared her colour theory beginning with the chromatic circle that starts with primary, secondary and then tertiary colours and ultimately is a continumum of an infinite amount of colours. Using the 3 dimensions of colour: hue, value and saturation, she demonstrated "How can we play with colour". Using a design program or improv she varied 2 or 3 hues, transitioned from light to darks set some rules and then created movement, included a focal point and interest. Check out her designs
Our member, Shirley P provided making a tote bag presentation in November
Shirley shared so many options for materials, tips for straps, sizes of bags and also pocket styles. Size and purpose of the bag provides so many choices!! More details are available in our member resource section. Thank you Shirley!
September lecture with Émilie Trahan
"A Viewing Party" - Lecture
Émilie from Joliette, Quebec discovered modern and improv quilting in 2017 and in 2021 her "Blooming" quilt was Best in Show at QuiltCon. Her Blooming quilt (52" x 63") is an improv modern quilt that uses petal shapes in a range of blues, purples, pinks, and peaches to create the look of a close-up image of a blooming flower.
