Tia volunteered to be the new secretary beginning in March. (YAY!)
Sandra gave the Treasurer's Report. There is just over $400 in our bank account and $17.42 in our Paypal Account. We currently have 13 Members.
Mary gave an update on the Community Outreach Project at the Limberlost Community. The first week had one participant. The second week had two participants and the third week had 3 participants. You can read more about the first week in Mary's post written here. The guild members that are volunteering at the Limberlost site are Mary, Veronica, Christine and Kristyn. There are additional volunteers from various Guild's throughout the city. The Limberlost participants are eager to learn additional stitches and applying them to their quilts.
Our Riley Blake Challenge pieces were shared. Sonia, Mary, Jan (absent) and Sheilagh shared their work. (Sheilagh has uploaded photos of Mary, Sonia's & Jan's work to the Finished Photos Forum on the Modern Quilt Guild's website.) Kristyn took the last bundle of Riley Blake challenge fabric to make her own creation. She completed the quilt in less than a week!! Her quilt can be found on her blog!
During our discussion reqgrding future agendas Mary indicated that there is a Colour Workshop being held locally by The Canadian Embroiderers' Guild, London (A Textile Arts Group). Click here for more information about this workshop.
