We collected several blankets for our Limberlost Community project. Thank you everyone for your support. The first session at Limberlost will take place next week. I missed taking a picture of all of the blankets. Hopefully Mary will be able to provide some once the project is under way!
Membership dues for 2014 are now due. The fee for this year $35 has increased from last year. This membership fee not only covers your membership to The London Modern Quilt Guild Canada, but also the Modern Quilt Guild. You can pay by cheque or cash at the next meeting, or by PayPal by clicking here. In addition to the fee, we now ask that all members fill out a membership form. You can fill it out online or print the PDF and submit it at the next meeting. This will help us keep track of all of our members and ensure that ALL members receive information about the London Modern Quilt Guild.
The Modern Quilt Guild Riley Blake Challenge deadline of February 17th is fast approaching! If you need a reminder of the rules, click here for a recap. You may encounter difficulty uploading to the forum on the Modern Quilt Guild website. If so, email a picture to Sheilagh at email@example.com. I will upload it on your behalf. OR bring it to February's meeting and we will take a photo of it for you.
A second Jacquie Gering workshop is in the works. The workshop will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2014. It is not on sale yet. As soon as we know, we will post on the website.
This month's agenda included sharing our very first quilt as well as sharing some modern inspiration. The photos of the pieces shared can be found on our home page.
Our next meeting is February 8, 2014. Our agenda so far:
- Bring your Riley Blake Challenge project.
- Bring a piece of Modern Inspiration. (This seemed to generate a lot of great discussion about modern quilting at January's meeting.)
- Share any meeting ideas that we can add to the monthly agenda's throughout the year.
See you in February!
