Audrey Esarey joined our guild in November:
She shared her design and quilting journey as she "Found her Voice" with a Radial series, dyed fabric and Aura series. Some members joined her workshop to make an "Ultraviolet radial" quilt design. Check out her designs

Debbie Grifka was our featured artist at our Quilt Show
Lecture:  Lines to Design

Join Debbie on her journey as we follow her (not always straight) path from new quilter to modern quilter to quilt designer and author and to her current life as a textile artist!  Presentation includes a slide show and actual quilts.

 July Collage to Quilt Workshop

Thanks to everyone who was able to join us for our July meeting! 4 LMQG members participated in a Collaboration Project using Sarah Hibbert's "Collage to Quilt" book. We were treated to an overview of how the project progressed, in progress pictures and the final reveal of Nora's, Jan's, Louise's and Linda's interpretation of "Collage to Quilt"

Members in attendance then tried a simple technique using paper to make a collage inspiration. Hope to see your quilt that results!
It was really fun to have Sarah pop in for a few minutes too! She offered great suggestions to get our minds thinking and generating more ideas.

From Collage to Quilt

Sarah likes to find inspiration in everyday objects to create fun paper art using recyclable materials from wrappers, pages from magazines, and even canned food labels. She uses these collages for initial design to springboard to a full-sized a fabric quilt. Collage to Quilt is the first craft book of its kind, combining the disciplines of paper collage and quilting. Rather than using a collage of fabric pieces, you will discover how to take readily available paper that you have on hand and execute one-of-a-kind designs for your home. @quiltcornerstone

100 Day Creative Project Lecture

Developing a Creative 100 Day Project- Sarah has participated in numerous 100 Day Projects with varying parameters. She will share her process and experience with these projects, including what worked and what didn’t work for her. Sarah will also share tips for how to tailor your 100 Day Project to suit your life and creative journey, even if you don’t think you have time. @sarahgoerquilts

All About Angles Workshop

All About Angles:
Sarah's 6-hour workshop includes cutting and piecing techniques to construct slabs to use as the building blocks for a project of any size... all without any math. Come play with angles in an easy and forgiving way to create a piece with great movement in your design. The class is fat quarter friendly. Students can expect to leave with their first 1-2 dozen units, which can be combined to become a finished mini/small quilt or built upon for a larger project. Quilting ideas will be discussed.
