Floral Collage is very easy to learn and a great starting place for your adventures in Collage.

For the Hands-On Exercise, you will have an opportunity to create a small floral fabric collage using one of the 4 printed sewing themed graphics.

We will demo 2 different methods for creating a Fabric Collage – the glue method and the fusible with Steam-A-Seam Lite.

Supplies needed:

Fabric:
Choose a complementary or analogous group of colours – maybe 2 – 4.
You don’t need yardage or fat ¼ s – scraps work just fine.  What you do want are pieces of fabric with distinct floral shapes, leaves, grasses, large flowers, small flowers, small birds & butterflies – things that can be cut out as distinct shapes that are somewhat realistic
1 metre of background fabric
Fusibile Steam a Seam lite
Applique ironing sheet, iron and travel ironing board
Sharp scissors with a point
Sharpie pen (not red)
Masking tape
Cookie sheet with a rim
Sewing machine and sewing kit
Thread that blends with your chosen fabrics.

Hope to see you Saturday!
