February Meeting changes

We are switching our monthly colour topics up for February and March.
February will be a colour workshop on Green led by Sonia.
March will be Neutrals led by Jan.

For February please bring green scraps, neutral scraps, your sewing machine and supplies.
Kristyn will also be showing some Improv Piecing in February.

January Meeting Recap

On January 9th we held our first meeting of 2016! It was a fantastic meeting with a LOT of new faces. Welcome everyone! We are so happy to have you join us.

One of our goals for 2016 is to greatly reduce the amount of time we spend on business and leave lots of time for learning and fun!

Our business included the following announcements and reminders:

April 8-10 - SWO Mod Quilt Retreat - 4 Spaces available. More info can be found here.
June 11 - At our June 11th meeting we will be holding "Playing with Triangles" workshop presented by Nancy Trowbridge. The fee is $10 and is partially subsidized by the Guild. The supply list can be downloaded here

Kristyn led a demonstration of a paper pieced pin cushion she had made. She made little kits for every member from her stash. (Thanks Kristyn!)

We were each given prints and/or solid that would make up the colour wheel and neutral for the background. So really the challenge was part creating the colour wheel and part paper piecing. Here are our members hard at work...

We are all paper piecing experts now!

After all of our learning, there wasn't a whole lot of time for Show & Share, here are the two quilts that were shared:

Jan's Twin Giraffe Quilts

Gail's quilt that will be donated to Syrian Refugees.
