Today we had Cristina de Miranda talk to us about her Journey Thru Modern Quilting where we learned about her love of hiking that began her inspiration for a collection of pillows.
From those pillows her love of textiles blossomed and Cristina has been designing patterns for a few years. These patterns are mostly foundation paper pieced which provide accurate piecing and precision.

This photo shows her design of an ice burg she saw when hiking in Newfoundland.

And here are her early plans for making a pillow and a beer can label- clearly quilt blocks can be found everywhere! Cristina is constantly using her graphic design skills even when not quilting.
